June is National Employee Well-being Month; an opportunity for companies in Louisiana to implement, evaluate and refine their employee wellness programs. As part of its wellness initiative, Deutsch Kerrigan offers its employees a variety of health wellness programs. Earlier in 2016, employees had the option to partake in a health screening, conducted on site with the help of Ochsner Health Systems. Participation was voluntary and those who participated benefited by lowering their health insurance premiums. Also offered is access to a personal trainer twice a week where employees can exercise during their lunch hours. Other health benefits include 24/7 access to a doctor via Teladoc, Inc. and an employee assistance program which allows 10 free counseling sessions with a psychiatrist; both 100% covered by the firm.
Outside of work, Deutsch Kerrigan offers a variety of social opportunities to help create a more friendly work environment. Throughout the year, all employees are invited to firm picnics and an on-site Lucky Dog day, Sno-ball day, and a Fish Fry. The firm also hosts Spotlight Parties twice a year to welcome new employees, a “Tree Trimming Party” to celebrate the beginning of the Holiday Season, and annual departmental Holiday luncheons.
