Ted Le Clercq and Andrew Baer, partners in the firm's Labor & Employment group, represented a supervisor in an employment discrimination lawsuit filed in Federal Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana. Judge Sarah Vance dismissed the School Board on motion and 2 of 3 claims against the supervisor prior to trial. The trial went forward on the state tort claim. of Louisiana.
Le Clercq argued for a defense verdict during a 35 minute closing and Plaintiff’s counsel argued $9.5 million was just compensation for the “wrongs” done to his client.
The jury returned a verdict in favor of the supervisor on January 16, 2019.
In a statement carried by ABC/Channel 13/WWLTV in their story on the trial that night, Le Clercq said:
“Dr. Stanley Green is gratified that the jury reached a verdict in his favor and found that the claims against him are without merit. Now that these claims have been resolved in his favor, and against plaintiff, Lindsay Garcia, Stanley Green looks forward to becoming a principal again and participating in the extraordinary school improvements within this great city.”
