Prior to joining Deutsch Kerrigan, Joan practiced for ten years in Kansas City, Missouri where she successfully defended a diverse range of clients, from individuals to large corporations and insurance companies, in wrongful death, personal injury, premises liability, and negligence claims throughout Missouri and Kansas. Joan also clerked for a federal magistrate judge in the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Joan approaches each case from a sensible and pragmatic perspective, seeking to achieve a successful outcome for her clients in a strategic and efficient manner. Joan focuses on problem solving to aggressively represent her clients’ positions, whether that means fighting for their interests through trial or negotiating a favorable resolution. Her trial experience, coupled with her precise attention to detail, allows her to develop strategic solutions that prioritize her clients' best interests.

Outside the office, Joan enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.
