Police Liability - Octave v. Sheriff
In 2009, Mr. Glas served as counsel for the Sheriff in the personal injury action entitled
Octave v. Sheriff
, No. 28753, Division D, 23rd JDC, Parish of St. James, LA. During the judge trial, Mr. Glas successfully defended deputies against claim they used excessive force when they shot plaintiff while executing a "no-knock" search warrant. After Mr. Glas cross-examined the plaintiff's police procedures expert, Judge Jane Triche-Milazzo granted the Sheriff's motion for an involuntary dismissal.
